Although the country is sometimes given a bad reputation because of its connection with aspects of the drug industry, Colombia has its own rich culture and tourist industry. With a well-educated population, a wealth of festivals, and tasty cuisine, the country has plenty to offer the traveler. For all these reasons, Colombia was named one of the ten top travel destinations in 2006.
